• When is the Gala?

  • Traditionally, the Gala is the Friday evening of Southern University's Homecoming weekend

     

• Where is it held?

  • The Gala will be at L'Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge in 2026

     

• How much are individual tickets? 

  • The event is sold primarily through sponsored tables. Tables range from $2,500 to $20,000.00 and seat 10.  A limited number of individuals tickets are available for $250.00 each.

• What is included in the cost of the ticket?

  • Each ticket allows you access to the event, dinner, non-alcoholic beverages, the awards presentation, and the 3-act concert performance.
     

• What will be served?

  • ​The event meal will be posted two weeks prior to the event. ​ No outside food/beverage is allowed in the venue.
     

• Are there any food considerations for Vegetarians/Vegans? 

  • Yes. Please indicate your preference one month prior to the event, by e-mailing at Marilyn_doherty@subr.edu

• Can my family and guest sit together? 

  • In order to sit together, you must purchase a table.
     

• How does seating work​? 
  Seating is assigned according to your "Degree" of SUpport! Ex: Closest to the stage are the $20,000 sponsors, then $15,000 sponsors, etc...  

  • We also take into account the order in which your support was received and the number of years a sponsors has supported the event. 
     

• I purchased my tickets online. When can I expect to receive them?

  • Tickets ordered online (no later than three weeks prior to the event date), will be mailed if requested, otherwise they will be at will call.

  • Tickets will be available for pickup, every Friday, starting September 15th-September 30, 2026 at Southern University College of Business 

  • No tickets will be mailed after October 2026
     

• Is my ticket purchase tax-deductible?

  • Yes, a portion of your ticket purchase is tax-deductible. An acknowledgement letter will be mailed to your home listing the fair market value of your purchase. Please retain this letter for your records.

• Do you sell tickets at the door?

  • No. Tables and tickets must be purchased no later than two weeks prior to the event date.
     

• What is the schedule for the Gala Dinner?

• Where do I park?

  • Complimentary on-site parking is available for our Gala guests.
    ​

• How do I check in?

  • Guests are invited to check-in at the registration tables by presenting the event ticket. A greeter will escort guests to their table. 
     

• What should I wear to the Gala?

  • The attire for the event is semi-formal, however,  feel free to come extra fancy in formal attire!
     

• How can I purchase a sponsored table or tickets?

  • ONLINE- is the preferred method! You can pay online with credit/debit cards. click here to pay online via the Southern University System Foundation! No personal checks accepted. Money orders and certified cashiers checks are acceptable forms of payment.

• I ordered multiple tickets for our company/group/organization. Can I arrange to leave individual tickets for guests at Will Call?

  • Yes- only if you provide the event staff with the names of individuals at least two weeks prior to the event date.

  • Failure to provide a list, by the stated deadline, will require you to wait, outside the event floor,  for your guest. 
     

• I bought a ticket for my friends, and they can’t come. Can I get my money back?

  • Unfortunately, tickets are not refundable.
    ​

• What happens if I lose my ticket? 

  • All tickets are tracked. In the event you lose your ticket, you will have to provide your receipt and your government issued ID,  in order to obtain entrance to the gala.
